Ledgent is partnering with a client in Woodbury, MN looking for a Property Accountant to join their team.
Fully on-site. Direct Hire. $60,000-$70,000 + BONUS.
Job Description:
- Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements; maintain the general ledger.
- Reconcile general and subsidiary bank accounts, cash disbursement accounts, payroll, and customer accounts.
- Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable and accounts payable; prepare fixed assist depreciation and accruals.
- Audit contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
- Determine proper handling of financial transactions and approve transactions within designated limits.
- Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
- Make recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures, to improve the accounting operation.
- Provide outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Prepare and file tax forms with federal, state and local government agencies.
- Install, modify, document and coordinate accounting control procedures; monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
- Coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree
- 2+ years of accounting experience (preference for a property management or construction company)
- Yardi or Sage (REQUIRED!)
- Proficient within Excel
